Left wing radicals ? You don't say ?

That there are two sides to every coin ?

Seriously. I find that there are more rightwing bloggers than ever. For example, an entry by someone calling himself "Dr Sanity", complaining that hostages rescued weren't even thankful, then further twisting their apology, into an accusation that all left wingers bite the hand that feeds them.

First of all, the hostages were grateful to be rescued, but this doesn't mean that they should change their views. It's like becoming an athiest because god didn't grant your wish.

Really.

Of course, I'm referring to something thats 2 years out of date, I just googled no good deed goes unpunished. and I get right wingers.. figures.

Somedays...

People just don't get satire..

Really. I'm of course referring to the hype surrounding that satirical cartoon...
Considering it was two of the NY times journalists who got (the west) us in to Iraq, I'm surprised they even ran with the cartoon. But hey, Sometimes USAmericans are too dumb, even when it's obviously satire...

For example, one of my posts in sciforums was so badly misread...

Just posting coz I'm bored.
Although I really should study.

Long time.

It's been a long time, since my last post.

It's also been a long time since my last promotion.
I really haven't been told explicitly whats wrong with me. Which only makes it frustrating and more apparent that the staff at my squadron have a grudge against me. (If anyone from the AAFC is reading this, note this is my personal opinion, not those of the AAFC). Seriously.

It also could be people adopting a wait and see attitude. Obviously one of them is not me. I'm going bright, and I'm going to go out with a bang. If i have to.

Right now, I've been at this rank for 2 years now, and the people below me are ready to take over soon. I owe it to them to tell them the way things work, and to ensure that the people below me get the best i can offer them. They deserve better.

Meanwhile, I'm standing by my opinion. If the AIR force cadets places more value on Fieldcraft than aircraft, then it's not the place for me. If it values charisma, sweettalking, and bludging more than blood, sweat and tears. Then screw em, who needs em..

Well, that said, hopefully the grudge doesn't extend around the wing, one more GST and a couple more flying courses then I should be out of here.

Fitna.

Gather round, ladies and gents, for a fine piece of propaganda.

As a semi muslim. I laugh, conjuring images with random clerics and quotes taken out of context, is an age old trick.

Nothing new, except how dumb people get.

here, see for your self, unless you're a white supremacist.

Legacy

A man passed away, My grandfather.

Leaving behind a legacy, Headmaster of two schools, father to a large extended family, and general champion of the community.

I am reminded of the song, "everyone's a top bloke when they're dead" by chasers, but I don't have enough memories of him to point out, why he shouldn't be a top bloke.

Legacy.

I am his legacy.

But I am not him.

Therefore.- I am my own legacy.

Angry..wtf ?

We'd all like to be well rounded, calm and witty individuals, wouldn't we ?.

Unfortunately, we're not.

I don't know whether it's the caffiene, or the fact that theres a shitload of HW in year 11. Or the fact that I don't seem to care anymore. Apathy has become my creed.

Anger my emotion, and what vestiges of control I have left fast dissapating.

Maybe it's just this fucking double maths period I just had.
Or the fact that my friends seem less real than my computer.

I quite frankly don't know.

My potential in doubt. (I had potential?). My efforts worthless.

As effortlessesly as I type, Apathy creeps in.

Why ?

I don't know.
And I sure as hell didn't choose to.

Being in an organization used to make me feel like I belong, now it seems alien and weird. But beautiful, In a museum sort of way. Evolution. Moving on. Leaving behind.
An artifact of my past. (Or my future).

I know I need help. But I'm probably just an attention seeker at heart.
If I were to ask about help on certain topics, they were certain to use it to their advantage.
But, such is life. I might just be paranoid.

Alright, enough of that shit.

In other news.

In case you haven't gathered, pressure is mounting up, and even though I got the award for most improved in maths, I don't like it.

US continues to hound Iran. Why ?. Do Iranians have to die too before Americans can use Oil Based Viagra ?

Bastards.

Apathy Rolling in.....

BSG vs SGA

Battlestar Galactica versus Stargate Atlantis.

I'll tell you straight off, They're both great shows.

Both have really good cast and SFX.
Both have a proud history and tradition, BSG was originally in the 80s and Stargate was going for 10 seasons before the spin off, which went for 4 more seasons.

Two things however, make BSG seperate from all the others.

Not America Centric, colonials have their own factions and inter rivalry. And not as corny.

In SGA, The leader of the expedition always saves the day, and survives, Shepard or Weir, Rodney always has some sort of new invention, just in time to save the day.

But in BSG, scientific inventions don't actually work out, such as the Cylons, which were originally created by man. People are flawed, and it shows. People can't handle the strain and it shows. PEOPLE DIE. and IT SHOWS.

sorry, Stargate, you're gonna have to sit this one out.

2 sides to every coin, or is it three ?

Okay..

Well, we all tend to one side people, and it's necessary for us to move conveniently and quickly in the modern world. If someone's an asshole, we avoid them. Because we know that they are not going to be conducive to our work. If someone's a nice person we know that they will be a pleasant addition to our day and actively seek and converse with them.

But sometimes, people have another side. Really.
But there's this one really obnoxious guy, lets call him blondie (no offence to blondes.. really), I really wonder why he bothers...doing anything ? If he knows that his attitude isn't conducive to his objective, why bother with the objective if you aren't going to change it ?

Like come on, Argh, I won't bother.

In other news, we're going to send more troops to east timor under a labour government. Well, I suppose it's either that or look foolish while we take oil.

Greed...don't get me started. (partially because I'd be hypocritical)..

Fox, Does it again....

Makes me laugh...

Apparently, they've been attacking bloggers....

In the interests of "fair and balanced" news, I warn that the following video is made by Brave new films, a long time critic of Fox (lets face it, Faux).

what, So bloggers can't express their opinions as fiercely as they wanted ?
o, and by the way, It's not only the "liberal" blogs that spout opinions so fiercely... right wing ones do it much more often and with private backing..

So thank you Faux news, for alienating another audience, that already doesn't trust you and never will.

Dumbasses...

Iraqi War memorial... for IRAQIs. ..

Ok, So maybe I do like blogging but I don't have time for it....

But.

Did it ever occur to you that there is no memorial for Iraqi's?
Theres a memorial for Iraqi Veterans (AMERICANS) etc, but there is no memorial to the 1.6 million people killed.

Not big enough for you ?

1 600 000 KILLED.

1 600 000 KILLED.

Who the hell are we to say that their lives were not worth remembering ?

Well, more good(bad) news.

Usually, I take the internet for granted now.

But fail to realise what can be at my fingertips.
Like firsthand reports from Iraq.

Yep, folks, first hand doom and gloom. (but it's useful)

Why the internet is a blessing.....

Apparently folks, I'm not done blogging. Or year 11 hasn't gotten into full swing yet.

Theres also a possibility of me refusing to admit that I'm an egotistical bastard who will be attracted to any hint of exposure. Maybe its just the caffiene running through my veins.

But some things just continue to get me pissed.

1.The media.
2.Politicians on which fates of countries supposedly rest
3. US foreign policy
4. Dumbasses on the interweb.

Ok, So the internet has been a blessing for everyone, not just because it has free porn, but because it makes alternate sources more available to the common man, should he so desire.
But of course, the common man is more interested in seeing Britney's Tits than knowing about electrical outages which may affect him. (despite the fact that without electricity, you can't see your own tits, let alone britney's.

So, At 1130 at night, I'm yelling out "WTF ?" and "this is why no one takes the media seriously, or for that matter, trusts it" Because, of the 1100 news bulletin of 3 minutes ,at least 2 was taken up by the fact that Britney Spears has been admitted into a psychiatric hospital.

WHAT THE FUCK ?
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE ?

You put more priority on Britney Spear's health (complete with police cars outside her house) than on the health of people suffering flash flooding and lightning storms ? people who may be trapped or killed?

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH EDITORS THESE DAYS ?

It's like this

OMG OMG OMGOMGOMG Britney's GONE CRAZY. Experts say she may blame her mother. ..etc... blah blah blah , O by the way, the railway line to woollongong has been cut off and dozens of people were stranded, but lets get back to Britney, OH, look HEATH LEDGER took drugs...

GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS (or the nearest celebrities), and START REPORTING REAL NEWS.

Edit: I actually wrote ASS out of you HEAD, I suppose it makes sense , since you can't tell the difference either way.

Moving On..

Saw a couple of friends move on and upwards today.

While stifling audacious assaults from my ego, I managed to feel proud of them and see that I could now help them in another capacity, with my support. When I'm not being a complete Pain in the Ass.
I mean come on, sometimes they're better than you. And sometimes you have to let go.

Like I'm letting go of blogging.

Yes, turns out my little stint on the interweb is over. (it wasn't much to begin with.)

You might see some rants here and there, but not a flurry of posts.

When they invaded Iraq...

Anyone remember..

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

And now, for the poorly rhyming...

When the Americans bombed Japan
I remained ignorant
I wasn't Japanese

When they bombed Korea
I remained indifferent
I wasn't Korean

When they bombed Vietnam
I remained silent
I wasn't a commie

When they supported Pinochet
I remained ignorant
I wasn't from Chile

When they invaded Iraq
I remained ignorant
I wasn't Iraqi

When they invaded my country
There wasn't anyone willing to speak, read, fight, for me.

Unembedded Journalism... Why its needed.

I've been reading from Dahr Jamail and it seems with every page i turn i just keep getting more and more pissed.

It has a scathing accusations of the media, principally Judith Miller and Michael Gordon, whom both should have lost their reputations and their jobs for reporting and failing to correct improper Iraq WMD stories.

And the rest of the media for ignoring the blatant truth, that embedding with a military unit only gives you propaganda and lies.
Jamail, Is one of those few jems, who through principle, went to Iraq on his own funds, and started reporting eyewitness accounts of what he saw inside Baghdad.
Quite frankly, Every major newspaper should be syndicating him by now. Yes, his reports are filled with reports of death and destruction. But it's death that the US, Directly or indirectly CAUSED.

We need people like Dahr to go out there and see what the rest of us are too scared to see or even read about. the same is true even for me. I'd rather play a game of freelancer than read his book about the suffering of Iraqi people.

We need alternate sources, particularly because mass media are a bunch of corporate spineless cowards.

Paradise for some, Hell for others.

For a tourist, Singapore has it all.

(well, for a tourist that used to live there)

I mean, come on, Sure there's a death penalty for drugs and they don't like homosexuals.. but I mean come on, No racism, xenophobia, modern, fast, eco friendly, all sorts of food..

Seriously. WHERE THE FUCK DO YOU FIND SATAY IN AUSTRALIA ?
And I don't mean Shish kebab style. I mean Satay with the heart attack inducing peanut sauce.

What about Chicken Rice?
No , you idiot, I don't mean Rice with chicken schnitzel, I mean chicken Rice, with proper sauce and rice.
And Ice Milo ? .. Only in certain corners of Australia can you find it. unlike the other two, which are really good.... REALLY.

Ok, So Its hell for people living here, most of my friends are dying under pressure, those not incredibly gifted (or cheating), report people studying for over 10 hours a day.

I mean seriously.. I'm kinda lucky to be here.. Oh, and did I say, singapore is great.

True blue Aussie Hypocrites.

You know, I realise that I never really paid Attention to the news.
But when i remember that a couple of months ago (in 2007) the bali bombers were given a chance to repent, and a an invitation to the local warden's home for a ramadan meal, Does anyone remember the Outrage behind that ?
you know, the critics calling for their heads, and people saying that they should not do this or that ?

Now, Aren't these the same people, (australians) that tried to lift the death penalty on drug traffickers of the Bali nine ? hmmm ?

Now, let me ask you, what makes a drug trafficker worse than a terrorist ?
A terrorist kills lives, A drug trafficker makes them suffer before they die, ruining a lot more lives in the process.

This revelation (although late) made me realise that no one is immune to large nationwide hypocrisy.

Fucking dumbasses.

So many unheard voices..

You know, with the loud voice of O Rielly and the amusing yet deadly bushisms, we tend to ignore the consistent and persistent, We tend to ignore the voices of reason and peace.

One of them is George Galloway, While I don't like his long winded explanations, It's less full of shit than the pro war politicians.. Remember ? We're fighting them over there so that we don't fight them here ?

He does tend to avoid a few questions, but hey, he's a politician but less full of shit than O Reilly.

Well, that ended well... surprisingly.. Is it because he's Irish...

This is a short excerpt of the response to accusations that he was in saddam's pocket...

Combined with Robert Fisk's first hand journalism and his eloquence, the voices not heard might have a chance.

Don't type wwww.

Seriously, I accidently added a www to my blogspot, and its a CHRISTIAN CONVERSION SITE... really.

So, in the truest tradition of internet spam...
